MY TREADMILL WON'T TURN ON
If you attempt to turn on your treadmill and your effort results in a totally dead treadmill with no lights on the treadmill's display panel, there are a few simple things to try before you call a repair service technician.
Many residential treadmills and all commercial treadmills have an on/off switch which is usually located at the motor end of the treadmill near where the line cord enters the machine. After confirming that the power cord is firmly plugged into the electric outlet and that the line cord has not been damaged, toggle the on/off switch and be sure that it is in the "on" position. Also note, that some treadmills have a reset button or overload protection button that may have tripped. If your treadmill is so equipped, press the "reset" button.
If the treadmill's display panel still has no lights, there may not be any
power at the outlet. This is easily checked by trying another appliance,
like a lamp or a vacuum cleaner, in the outlet. If the other appliance doesn't
work, go to your building's circuit breaker panel and reset the appropriate
circuit breaker. If any of these actions have cleared the problem, if it
is a one time occurrence and if, after clearing the trouble the treadmill
works properly, it is probably not a significant issue. If it happens again,
stop using the treadmill and call a qualified treadmill service provider
to resolve the underlying cause. If you continue to use the treadmill in
this condition, you will probably damage the treadmill's lower board ( motor
controller ).
It doesn't hurt to make sure that the treadmill's safety
magnet is properly placed or that the safety key is inserted, depending on
the style of your treadmill, but most treadmill display consoles would have
at least one LED lit before that is required to proceed.
